I want to share with you a tip that I use in
my own dieting efforts. I am a CARB
crazy girl! I LOVE carbohydrates. Chips (with dip), crackers, popcorn and
sometimes the occasional piece of cake.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I am no martyr to the cause of being rail thin
or anything, as those of you that know me, know that I like a little meat on my
bones (just a little) - I do eat junk on occasion. However, I am in training mode now and I have
to drop the weight for my upcoming show and I do miss my little treats. In order not to feel so deprived, I pop a
snack size bag of Orville Redenbacher 94% Lean Butter Flavored Popcorn. It is low fat and only has 28 grams of
carbohydrates a serving. The good thing
about this snack is that it is healthy, filling, low carb, low fat, and it
helps take the edge off. Also, it is
snack sized, so the portion is singular and controlled so that you will not go
off on a mindless feeding frenzy. Ha ha! For an extra bit of fun I spray the popcorn
with a little butter flavored cooking spray.
Yum-yum! Try it out and let me
know how you like it.

Boy do I have some "sweet/carbs" treats that are diet friendly. I have got some protein cinnamon bars, protein brownies with sugar free jello pudding, protein banana muffins, pumpkin spice protein pancakes, protein raspberry linzer bars, strawberry frozen greek yogurt, i also love ezekiel bread or english muffins with whole food's fresh ground almond butter and some sugar free fruit preserves (Literally a PB & J), oh and many others. I have taken nearly any sinful recipe and changed the ingredient to all clean ingredients so it's diet friendly. Also Whole Food's sells SWEET brown rice in their buld dispensers, cook some of that up with cinnamon, then serve with some truvia or a squirt or dollop of fat free cool whipe (1 carb)...like rice pudding dessert! We should get together soon and make stuff. And I'll FB you my # so whenever I go to the gym if I know you'll be there I can bring any extras of the aforementioned stuffs if I've made some that day. I make some of these quite frequently and as a matter of fact with exception to the pancakes and banana muffins, I have them all right now. Making protein banana muffins tonight probably! I'll probably see you at the gym this afternoon!
ReplyDeleteHey Natalie! You have some awesome tips too! I too add cinnamon to lots of things. Hey, did you know cinnamon has anti-inflamation properties? Word to the wise... I will have to check out the sweet brown rice. Do you think this would be okay for me to have during my competition prep time. As an athlete and a compeitior yourself, I know you understand this question. I am headed to the gym this morning, as I have an afternoon appointment. so I won't see my "Super Hero" friend today. Have a blessed day and a fab workout! But, I am positive I will see you tomorrow! Yay! Thanks for your post and support!
